The Armenian Church is located on the Armenian street in the Chennai suburbs. Armenian merchants who settled in chennai for trading purpose built it in the year 1771. The Armenian Church of Virgin Mary is a marvel of architectural beauty and one the oldest churches in India.
The church complex consists of a small chapel and belfry tower. Bell's tower of the church is magnificent having six bells and is the key attraction of the place. The six bells vary in sizes from 21 to 26 inches and were cast at different times. It is considered to the largest and heaviest bells of chennai. This tower attracts a lot of tourists and is a place of travel importance in Chennai.
